Malraux and photography

To mark the Bicentenary of Photography, La Villette and the Micro-Folie network are coming together to bring photography to life across the whole of France, both mainland and overseas, as well as internationally.
Through a shared programme of activities and initiatives, the Micro-Folie invite visitors to encounter artworks, artists and audiences, and to discover the history of photography and its contemporary uses, in a diversity of viewpoints and practices.
From October to November, the Micro Folie celebrates Malraux. Come and discover his idea of the Imaginary Museum, made possible by the evolution of photographic techniques. The very idea of the imaginary museum could correspond to the Micro Folie, which brings together nearly 7000 digitised artworks!
To go further in your discovery, artistic workshops are on offer. Cyanotypes, photo retouching on a graphics tablet and making a bound notebook in which to slip all your photos and so create your own imaginary museum.
